Snoqualmie DADU Permits: The Application Checklist
Snoqualmie’s updated ADU checklist identifies the building application, energy documents, site and structural plans, and water and sewer availability forms. Floodplain status and drainage work can add required approvals.

Which checklist should a new application use?
Start with the city’s ADU checklist revised August 19, 2026, linked from Planning Permits. It references SMC 17.55.070 and the applicable zoning requirements. Follow the current checklist instead of an older public-hearing packet.
Record the document date in the project file and keep the submitted checklist with the drawings. If city staff requests a different or updated item, add it to that working register so the package remains coordinated.

What drawings and forms are identified?
| Package group | Examples on the city checklist |
|---|---|
| Application | Building application, ADU checklist and energy compliance. |
| Plans | Site plan, elevations, floor plans and applicable structural plans. |
| Services | Water and sewer availability forms. |
| Site conditions | Drainage report or flood improvement permit where applicable. |
Use the complete city checklist to establish which structural sheets apply. A plan set should describe the same cottage position, dimensions and service routes throughout.

When does a flood or drainage question become decisive?
Resolve the mapped hazard status while choosing the cottage location. The companion floodplain guide explains the city’s distinction between a floodway and a floodplain location outside the floodway.
Put the hazard determination beside the site concept, not at the end of the finish-selection process. If it changes where or how the building can be placed, that affects the design, foundation and budget together.
How are the application and review costs handled?
The checklist describes an estimated processing-cost deposit and the possibility of additional deposits where actual city costs exceed the baseline. Treat the initial payment as part of the approval budget rather than a guaranteed cap.
Use the checklist’s current submission instructions and retain the application number. TimberworX offers a free Snoqualmie DADU consultation; detailed design, research and budgeting are paid preconstruction services. Bring the site information that establishes which reviews the project needs.
